The theory of being able to take advantage of both halves of the brain is still something I would really like to dive into. I was really high one night and had this idea about how the brain works and what sides control the body. Turn’s out, the left side of the brain controls your right side motor skills and the much more logical side of the brain, whereas the right side of the brain controls your left side mobility and the creative side of your brain. So the theory was, what if I started sketching with my left? Would my sketches get better? Would they look better? Would I be more creative for using my left hand while drawing? All these thoughts started rushing to my head, but I knew that the only way to really see if this experiment was going to work was to actually start sketching with my left. After a few nights of getting really high, I noticed that my drawings definitely looking better, but my style of sketching was much more loose and “careless”. I hope this can help other artists one day, I believe is a good balance to think outside the box and have different experiences, even if it’s just changing the hand you sketch with.
